Some good news about one of the four-legged (and three-legged) residents of Abington that have been looking for a home.

Maggie Mae (pictured above) has been adopted.

“Maggie Mae was adopted by a family who spent many weeks visiting her and she began to bond with them,” according to an update provided to Ms. Katie Nagy, Humane Educator at the Montgomery County SPCA.  “She’s been in her new home for [more than]…2 weeks now.”

There are still several other Abington residents looking for a home: DieselHoudiLucci, and Sultan.

According to a statement from the Montgomery County SPCA, in order to adopt an animal you must:

• Have valid photo identification.

• Be at least 18 years of age.

• Be the owner/renter of a property or have the owner’s/renter’s permission (this includes adults living with their parents).

• Provide proof that pets are permitted under a rental/lease agreement (if applicable).

Adoption hours at the Abington Shelter of the Montgomery County SPCA are Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 PM.

The adoption fee for each animal is $65.00 plus tax.

The Abington Shelter of the Montgomery County SPCA is located at:
