Airbnb has a number of disclosure statements on its websites regarding hotel occupancy taxes as well as other regulations, policies, and laws that potentially affect temporary rentals in select communities in the United States and beyond.

For example, Airbnb lists information on “Occupancy tax collection and remittance by Airbnb in Pennsylvania”.  You can view this webpage by clicking here.

In addition, Airbnb lists information that details a variety of items regarding regulations, policies, and laws within the City of Philadelphia.  You can view this webpage by clicking here.

A link is provided by Airbnb to several specific webpages maintained by the City of Philadelphia.  You can view a webpage that details the Hotel Tax in the City Philadelphia by clicking here.

There are no specific webpages on the Airbnb website that detail regulations, policies, and laws that potentially affect temporary rentals in Montgomery County, including in Abington, Cheltenham, Springfield, and Upper Dublin Townships as well as in the Boroughs of Jenkintown and Rockledge.

Airbnb does include information for Airbnb hosts regarding cities not specifically listed by Airbnb.  You can view this webpage by clicking here.

When asked if Airbnb has terms in its agreements with Airbnb hosts that mandate that Airbnb hosts operate in a lawful manner and pay all appropriate taxes, the response from Airbnb was:

“We encourage hosts to think carefully about their responsibilities,” stated Ms. Liz DeBold Fusco, Northeast Press Secretary for Airbnb.  “Hosting offers rich experiences, but it comes with a certain level of commitment.  In addition to the basic requirements that we expect of all hosts, we urge hosts to be responsible here.”
