Millennium Fire - Part One - One.jpg

Riverwalk At Millennium as seen on August 13, 2008.  All of the photos in this news column were taken on that date.  Flames are engulfing the construction site of Stables At Millennium, located on an adjacent parcel of real estate.  The skies in the area were blue in color with white clouds just minutes before this photo was taken.  Note the wooden structure – slated to become one of the buildings of Stables At Millennium – is still standing.

The flames from the construction site still appear to be contained on that piece of land.

At about 5:15 PM, Mr. Tom Stanley was on 8th Avenue in Conshohocken.
He and others saw flames and smoke arising from the construction site of Stables At Millennium.

At about the same time Mr. Stanley saw flames from 8th Avenue in Conshohocken,
Ms. Annette Baesel was on Crawford Avenue in West Conshohocken.  This was what she
saw at that time.  According to Ms. Baesel, the flames ranged from about 50 feet high to
more than 100 feet high.  Recall that the flames are across the Schuylkill from this location.

The next news column will detail the spread of the fire from the construction site of Stables At Millennium into Riverwalk At Millennium as well as highlight the actions of the fire fighters as they sought to control the inferno.
