Ice Skating Rinks Open In Abington

Ice skating enthusiasts now have four places to go to in Abington Township.

"The skating rinks are now open," according to a statement from Abington Township.  "As always we ask that you understand conditions can change quickly, if you see exposed water please do not use the rinks.  The Parks Department provide hockey nets when the conditions are deemed safe and remove them when conditions become unusable."

The ice skating rinks are located at Crestmont Park, Penbryn Park, Baederwood Park, and Roychester Park.

"Please remember that use of the rinks is 'at your own risk'," the statement continued.  "We will do everything to keep the surface clear and smooth.  Do not throw debris on the ice as this makes it hard for our crew to clear the surface."

Official hours for the ice rinks are from Dawn to 10:00 PM.

According to the Township, "All parks have lighting except for Crestmont Park at this time."
