Glenside Local:
Holiday Inn Express In Fort Washington Helped Jenkintown
January 17, 2019
An earlier news column detailed the emergency situation this past weekend at the Beaver Hill West Condominiums in Jenkintown. A total of 104 homes were without gas service from Saturday evening through much of Tuesday.
Without gas service, there was no heat.
Most of the families living at Beaver Hill West Condominiums were able to relocate temporarily while repairs were made at the property.
As the situation developed, though, Mr. Kevin Lynch, Fire Marshal of the Borough of Jenkintown, sought assistance for several families that did not have alternative housing resources.
On Monday of this week, Mr. Lynch asked for help for these families from the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Fort Washington.
"We received the call from the Jenkintown Fire Marshal asking for our assistance," explained Ms. Melissa Willson, Sales Manager at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Fort Washington. "Within about 10 or 15 minutes, we had everything worked out and arrangements were made to help these families."
"We provided a discount to four families so that they would have a safe and warm place to stay on Monday night," Ms. Willson continued. "The property manager at Beaver Hill West Condominiums helped coordinate everything."
"We were pleased to be able to help Jenkintown," stated Mr. Jerry Skot, General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Fort Washington.
