Cheltenham School District Received $25,000.00 Safety Grant

"The Cheltenham School District has received a $25,000.00 school safety grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency," according to a statement issued this week by the Cheltenham School District. "The grant will be utilized by purchasing security-related technology."
"The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency initiates, validates, and financially supports justice-related programs put forth by practitioners and experts in the justice system," the statement continued. "The commission focuses on research, policy, planning, training, evidence-based programming, technology, outreach and support services."
"On June 22, 2018, Governor Tom Wolf signed Act 44 of 2018 into law, creating a School Safety and Security Committee within the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency," the statement concluded. "The Committee is tasked with developing the criteria school entities are to use in performing school safety and security assessments, issuing a survey to school entities to measure school safety and security preparedness, and administering grants."
