Abington Citizen's Police Academy
January 3, 2019
The Abington Township Police Department is looking for local residents that might be interested in learning "how a crime scene is investigated or how many hours of training it takes to become a K9 Officer."
"The Citizen’s Police Academy is designed to teach citizens about the training, policies, and guiding principles of law enforcement and ethics that shape Abington Township Police Department," according to a statement from the Police Department. "Taught by Abington officers and members of other agencies, participants will learn about crime scene investigation, the police K9 unit, SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), accident investigation, use of force, and more."
Residents of Abington Township and nearby communities are able to participate in the Citizen’s Police Academy.
These two photographs, as well as the top photograph, are from the Citizen’s Police Academy in 2018.
